The doily has a scalloped lace border, rings of small oval cut-outs, and rows of punched holes. A ribbon threads through the lower edge and ties into a bow with two hanging tails.

Paper doilies under pastries are a tea-room habit that goes back a century, and the lace pattern is half the presentation. This is the prettiest of the still-life sheets in our macaron coloring pages, and it sits nicely alongside the macarons on a round plate page.
