Color the frosting from top to bottom, then fill in the upper liner and lower liner separately, and finish with the candle and flame. Giving each liner a slightly different shade is the key to making the double-layer base stand out. Tap any color below to copy its HEX code.

Additional Coloring Tips

1Double liners

Use warm yellow for the upper liner and a slightly lighter cream for the lower one so the stack reads as two separate layers.

2Frosting swirl

Shade the inner curves of the swirl just a touch darker than the outer surface to give the frosting its rounded shape.

3Candle flame

Color the base of the flame bright orange and let it fade to yellow at the tip for a warm, glowing effect.
