Showing a cake with one slice removed is the oldest trick in bakery photography, because it tells you what is inside without a word. In our Cake Coloring Pages collection it works as a pair with the slice of layer cake on a plate, which shows the same wedge on its own.

We rate this printable coloring page as medium and good for ages 7 and up. Plan for about half an hour to an hour. The pearl border runs to about twenty small rounds, so colored pencils give the best edges. Keep the cut face lighter than the frosting so the inside still reads as sponge.
